10th International Yoga Day

The 10th International Yoga Day was celebrated by ‘Yoga Club’ under the able leadership of Promila Malik, Principal of Government College, Kalka. In this, yoga instructor Jagdeep ji made us practice various asanas, among which Surya Namaskar, Bhujangasana, Dhanurasana, Vrikshasana, Sarvangasana, Shavasana, Padmasana, Trikonasana, Tadasana and Pranayam are especially noteworthy. On this occasion, Principal Promila Malik told that International Yoga Day celebrated on 21st June celebrates the physical and spiritual strength that Yoga has brought to the world stage. Yoga is an important part of our daily routine, which brings our body, mind and soul in harmony; Which has existed for centuries. This special occasion is celebrated all over the world. This time the theme of International Yoga Day is ‘Yoga for self and society’. The aim of this campaign of the Government of India is to encourage the citizens of the country to stay healthy and fit. On this occasion, teaching and non-teaching staff of the college, Yoga Club members, NCC students, NSS students, Sports Nursery children and other students of the college practiced yoga with full enthusiasm. In the successful organization of the program, Dr. Geeta Kumari, in-charge of Yoga Club of the college, member Professor Suresh Kumar, Dr. Pradeep Kumar, Assistant Professor Hardeep, Lt. Dr. Yashveer in-charge of NCC Boys Unit, Lt. Dr. Gurpreet Kaur in-charge of Girls Unit. And Dr. Sarita, in-charge of NSS, Professor Dr. Bindu, member of Celebration of Days Committee, Dr. Kavita played an important role in guidance and direction. Everyone took health benefits by practicing yoga.
