Make College Campus Plastic free

Under the skilful leadership of Dr. Geeta Sukhija, Principal of Government College Kalka, a campaign to make the college campus plastic-free was launched by Eco Club and SDG Club. Principal Dr. Geeta Sukhija while addressing the students said that plastic causes a lot of damage to the environment. In such a situation, we all need to take a pledge to create a plastic-free India. The keynote speaker Garima (working at Bisleri International) asked the students to eliminate single-use plastics such as straws, cutlery and single-use bags to make the college campus plastic-free and adopt reusable alternatives such as cloth bags. Bisleri International also provided two dustbins for collecting plastic waste which were installed in the college campus. 34 students of Eco Club and SDG Club and housekeeping staff of the college, sanitation workers participated in the campaign. Dr. Neeru, Convenor of the eco club and members Dr. Neeru Sharma, Dr. Jagpal, Dr. Indu, Dr. Chetna, contributed to the success of the plastic-free campaign.
