Posted on 06/11/2025

Mental Health Awareness Lecture Organised by Department of Psychology A lecture on mental health awareness was organised by the Department of Psychology of the College under the charismatic leadership of Principal Dr. Geeta Sukhija. The main aim of this lecture was to help students recognize the role that mental health plays in their overall well-being and the value that raising awareness holds in helping those in need of treatment. The workshop was conducted by Ms. Monika Verma, a dedicated Counselling Psychologist who has been working passionately to promote mental health and emotional well-being. She raised awareness surrounding research and treatments related to various mental health issues being faced by college students and she suggested various practical strategies that students could implement in their lives to deal effectively with these issues. She also motivated students to talk openly about their mental health struggles and encouraged them to support their friends and loved ones if they are facing such issues so that the stigma surrounding mental illnesses could be reduced. The lecture was attended by over 70 students from various departments of the College and was very well received and appreciated by all the students who attended it. The lecture was organised by Dr. Navneet Nancy who is heading the Department of Psychology.
