National Youth Day

National Youth Day campaign was organised at Smt. AAA Government PG College, Kalka by the Red Ribbon Club of the College under the charismatic leadership of Principal Dr. Geeta Sukhija. The Club organised a poster making competition, a slogan writing competition and a face painting competition in order to observe the National Youth Day fortnight which lasts from 12th January to 26th January. These competitions were organised in order to spread awareness regarding HIV AIDS and to promote positive health behaviours whilst also fostering compassion and reducing discrimination against people living with HIV. Students of the College enthusiastically participated in all the completions as it gave them a platform to showcase their creative abilities while helping them spread a meaningful message to prevent the spread of HIV AIDS. Principal Dr. Geeta sukhija appreciated students’ efforts and creative abilities and also motivated them to continue participating in such events so that they could encourage others in the society to fight the stigma associated with HIV AIDS. Shabana from BA 3rd year and Nishu from B.Sc. 1st year secured first position, Preetijita from BA 3rd year and Gunjan from BA 1st year secured second position and Lucky from B. Com. 1st year secured third position in poster making competition. In slogan writing competition, Shabana from BA 3rd year secured first position, Shiwani from B. Sc. 2nd year secured second position and Tamanna from BBA 1st year secured third position. Shabana from BA 3rd year secured first position in face painting competition; meanwhile, Preeti from BCA 3rd year secured second position and Priyanka from B. Com. 1st year secured third position. All the events were judged by Ms. Anjna, Dr. Suman and Ms. Sheetal Mangla. The onus for the successful organisation of this campaign goes to the convenor of the Red Ribbon Club Ms. Swati and members Ms. Neetu, Ms. Anu Dahiya, Dr. Navneet Nancy, Dr. Shabnam and Dr. Sonia.
