One - Day One-Day National Seminar

One-Day National Seminar Organized at Govt. P.G. College, Kalka A One-Day National Seminar sponsored by the Directorate of Higher Education, Haryana was successfully organized by the Faculty of Science, Smt. Aruna Asaf Ali Government Post Graduate College, Kalka, Panchkula (Haryana) on 3rd February 2026. The seminar witnessed enthusiastic participation from academicians, researchers, and students from various institutions across the state. The seminar was organized under the esteemed Chief Patronage of Sh. S. Narayanan, Director General, Higher Education, Haryana. Dr. Geeta Sukhija, Principal of the college, served as the Patron and provided continuous guidance and support for the successful conduct of the event. The academic planning and coordination were efficiently carried out by Dr. Ram Chand (Convener), Department of Botany, while Dr. Neeru, Department of Zoology, acted as the Co-Convener. Financial matters were managed by Dr. Ajit Singh, Department of Physics, as the Financial Secretary and Dr. Gurpreet Kaur, Department of Physics, served as the Organizing Secretary of the seminar. The seminar was formally inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Dr. S. K. Gakhar, Vice Chairman, Haryana State Higher Education Council along with Dr. S. P. Sukhija former joint director, department of higher education, haryana. In his inaugural address, Dr. Gakhar highlighted the importance of interdisciplinary research and emphasized the role of higher education institutions in fostering innovation and research excellence. The keynote speaker of the seminar was Prof. (Dr.) Nirmala Chongtham. Eminent scholars Prof. (Dr.) Sandeep Sahijpal, Prof. (Dr.) Anand Narayan Singh, Prof. (Dr.) Indu Sharma, and Prof. (Dr.) Bhawna Pareek from reputed institutions such as Panjab University and Maharishi Markandeshwar Deemed to be University, Mullana delivered invited talks enriching the academic deliberations. The seminar received an overwhelming response with around 150 participants, including faculty members, research scholars, and students. Research papers were presented both in offline and online modes, covering diverse disciplines such as Botany, Zoology, Physics, Chemistry, and allied sciences. The seminar concluded with a valedictory session graced by Dr. A. N. Singh, who appreciated the efforts of the organizing team and emphasized the importance of such academic platforms in promoting a vibrant research culture.
