Yuva Aapda Mitra Training Program

Smt. A.A.A. Govt. P.G. College, Kalka, continues its commitment to disaster preparedness through its NSS units. Under the leadership of Principal Dr. Geeta Sukhija, 20 NSS volunteers who successfully completed the seven-day “Yuva Aapda Mitra” training program at the Combined Training Institute, Panchkula, were also provided emergency responder kits.
The training, organized in collaboration with the State and District Disaster Management Authorities, equipped the volunteers with practical knowledge of first aid, rescue techniques, firefighting, and flood management. Along with skill development, the distribution of emergency kits by the training authorities further strengthened the volunteers’ readiness to respond effectively during emergencies.
Dr. Geeta Sukhija appreciated the initiative and motivated students to use their skills and resources for the welfare of society. The program was efficiently coordinated by NSS Program Officer Dr. Ashish Kumar and Assistant Professor Ms. Savita.
With both training and essential equipment, these volunteers are now well-prepared to serve as responsible first responders and enhance community safety.
