The University Grants Commission is a statutory body of the Central Government of India which recognizes universities and colleges. The same commission also provides grants to government recognized universities and colleges. This college got recognition in the year 1978 under section 2 (f) and 12 (b) of UGC Act, 1956.

The University Grants Commission provides various types of financial aid to the college from time to time, which is used in the development of the college. The various schemes under which the college received assistance are as follows:

·      Development assistance to the college for construction of buildings

·      Research workshops / seminars and conferences in college

·      Special Scholarship for SC / ST students and girl students

·      Establishment of UGC Network Resource Center

·      Remedial coaching for SC, ST, OBC (non-creamy layer) and minorities

·      Help for purchase of books for library

·      Financial assistance to purchase equipment and computers for laboratories

·      Minor Research Projects (For Teachers of Colleges)

·      Teacher Fellowship under Faculty Improvement Programme Scheme

Our college branch uses this financial aid as per the guidelines of University Grants Commission. From time to time, the University Grants Commission issues new guidelines to the college which is followed by the college such as formation of Student Grievance and redressal Cell, downloading Aarogya Setu App etc. In short, it can be said that the University Grants Commission plays an important role in the development of the college.
